“The program at the YMCA is convenient and gives their father and I time over the weekend to spend with the children doing family activities. The activities in the classroom help in their development and the children look forward to coming to school. They also love swimming!” - Mother of two enrolled children, Teaneck
At Happy Day Child Care Center our goal is to provide a nurturing, safe and developmentally challenging environment for your children. The early learning years inspire children’s enthusiasm for loving life and the experiences within it. This includes but is not limited to learning, exploring, working and playing with other people and learning how to be a responsible individual and part of a group.
We have developed our program based on the four domains (Cognitive, Language, Social/Emotional, and Physical) of development in children ages 2-5. At Happy Day Child Care Center we believe that each domain or puzzle piece is important because they help to develop the “whole child.” We focus on each child as an individual and an active member of a group focusing on their strengths and nurturing their weaknesses.
"The teachers at YMCA Happy Day Child Care center are caring and I am satisfied with everything. My child is advancing in every area!" - Parent of daycare child, Teaneck
Curriculum & Objectives
In order to develop your child’s sense of curiosity, promote their social/emotional growth, enhance their language skills and strengthen their cognitive development. At Happy Day Child Care we have developed a theme rich curriculum which incorporates math, science, language, social studies, art, motor activities, and most importantly play. Children age 2-5 learn many important skills through exploring their curiosity.
• They will participate in activities that promote their social emotional growth, like circle time and show and tell.
• They will develop their English language skills learning about each letter of the alphabet, identifying its sound, and exploring rhyming, rhyming and developing their pre-reading and reading skills.
• They will begin to explore numbers and learn to represent each number through composing and decomposing, creating and extending patterns, measuring using standard and non-standard tools.
• They will explore science and learn about making predictions, testing their ideas and participating in many hands on experiences.
