Summer Camp good fun, in good hands.
When kids experience YMCA Camp they experience something new every day. Like the power of a positive mentor, the confidence that comes from trying…and succeeding, and the importance of healthy, long-lasting friendships. Of course, they don’t know this. They just think they’re having a whole lot of fun.
- Day Camp Kahagon (Grades K- 1st)
- Day Camp Oratam (Grades 2nd - 7th)
- TeenVenture Day Camp (Grades 8th - 9th)
- Resident Camp Michikamau (Grades 3rd -11th)
Our camps are traditional, back to basics summer camps. Each camp offers an unplugged experience for children to reconnect with the outdoors while being introduced to a variety of activities. All our programs promote the YMCA’s core values of Caring, Respect, Responsibility and Honesty developing self confident and independent campers.
Day Camp Kahagon provides campers 5-6 years of age with their first peak at the natural world. Each session balances play, art, sensory exploration and hands-on learning. Campers will play games, participate in swim lessons, learn outdoor skills and explore in the local habitats.
Each day at Day Camp Oratam is an adventure. From swimming to go cart racing, canoeing to crafts Oratam features activities children aged 7-12 love. For the young adults, 13-14, we offer a TeenVenture leadership program that combines all that is fun of camp with additional activities and day trips that cultivate personal growth, leadership skills and foster teamwork.
For over 30 years Camp Michikamau has offered a high quality traditional overnight camp for both girls and boys aged 8-16. Campers are given the freedom to choose their activities such as: rock climbing, kayaking, outdoor skills, dance and much more! Campers aged 16 can participate in our new Counselor in Training program which is aimed to develop future camp staff members.
